Julia Purrington is a USAT Certified Level
I Coach and a USA Swimming Certified Coach. She is a former High
School and Collegiate swimmer with over 15 years of competetive
swimming experience. She has been coaching the local US Masters
swim practice groupsince 2006. She also is the head coach of the
Mount Vernon Country Club Makos summer club team and has been the
assistant coach for the Evergreen Hurricanes year round swim team
for the past 2 years.
Julia began competing in Triathlons in 2005
and has since competed in over 50 races ranging from Sprint Triathlons
to Marathons and Ironman Triathlons. In 2007 and 2009 She was a
member of Team USA and qualified to compete in the ITU Age Group
World Championships for Short Course (Olympic Distance) Triathlon.
in 2008 Julia was the top ranked athlete in her age group in the
Rocky Mountain Region.
Julia was in a serious biking accident in
August of 2009, but is recovering. She is not able to race, so her
way to pour herself into sport is through her coaching. She has
joined D3 Multisport coaching
in Bouler, CO

In 2008 Julia was the USAT Rocky Mountain Region top ranked 30-34 year
old!!!
In 2009 she was Second in her age group at the Deuces Wild Olympic distance
triathlon, first in her age group at the Windsor Pellican Fest triathlon.
